Glidecam

Express Video Supply proudly distributes Glidecam camera stabilization systems that help you achieve absolutely smooth professional moves with every shot.

Martin Stevens founded Glidecam Industries, the manufacturer of camera stabilization systems and accessories, for use by both film and video makers, in 1992. The actual origin of the first Glidecam device dates back to the spring of 1991. Martin designed it when he was producing and directing his first feature length motion picture. Glidecam has become the world leader in its field because it combines the best practices with the best thinking, and in the end it is this combination that the customer wants.

EVS proudly features
  • Glidecam Camcrane 200: The Glidecam Camcrane 200 is a tripod mounted, boom-arm camera crane.
  • Glidecam 2000 Pro: a light-weight, hand-held camcorder stabilizing system designed for compact cameras
  • Glidecam 4000 Pro: a heavy-duty, hand-held camcorder stabilizing system designed for large mini-dv camcorders
  • Glidecam V-8: a body-mounted professional camera stabilization system.

  •      Glidecam Camcrane 200

The Glidecam Camcrane 200 is the most affordable and versatile crane of its type on the market today.          Glidecam 2000 Pro
This stabilizing system is lightweight and designed for hand-held compact camcorders that allows unrestricted booming and unrestricted 360 degree panning. The Glidecam 2000 Pro allows you to shoot incredibly smooth and graceful shots even while going to extremes like running up and down stairs or traveling over rugged terrain. And when it comes to normal shooting, like walking or moving the camera slowly around someone, the results are equally precise. It has been touted as the best and most versatile camcorder stabilizer available on the market today. It is quick and easy to set up and balance. Because of the Glidecam 2000 Pro's offset handle grip, your hand is able to move up and down, and side to side, isolating your hands unwanted motions from the camera. The up and down movement eliminates the bouncing action. You can quickly adjust the cameras horizontal balance due to the ability of the camera platform to move back and forth and side to side. Adjusting the camera's vertical balance is accomplished by varying the amount of counterweight disks on the base platform. Once balanced, the camera floats and you are ready for action.

       Glidecam 4000 Pro
With the Glidecam 4000 Pro you will enter a realm where you are free to pan, tilt, boom or run without any camera instability or shake. Move with your camera. Super-smooth tracking shots, and the ability to shoot fluid traveling shots from moving vehicles are not just possible; they're a way of life. This is the world of the Glidecam 4000 pro.

The Glidecam 4000 Pro is a lightweight, hand-held camcorder stabilizing system designed for cameras weighing from 4 to 10 pounds.

The Glidecam 4000 pro is newly designed and now has a no-tools telescoping center post, a sleek and lighter base which allows you to quickly attach and dynamically adjust the counterweight disks, a foam handle grip, a lighter gimbal with a more compact main bearing assembly and a new yoke design.

The combined results of our new design elements create a stabilization system that works so gracefully and professionally, you'll see why the idea of making a camera glide through the air isn't just a dream, it's a reality.

        Glidecam V-8
With the introduction of the GLIDECAM V-8, Glidecam Industries, Inc. can say that it offers the most affordable and versatile line of professional camera stabilizers in the world. The Glidecam V-8 boasts its unique and exclusive Orbital Hinge technology that is designed to increase the isolation between the operator's hip and the Dyna Elastic Arm. The Orbit Hinge accomplishes this isolation with the ability to rotate 360 degrees. This rotation allows the back end of the Rigid Arm to continuously move in an unobstructed orbital path around the Glidecam Vest Mounting Plate.

The Glidecam V-8’s new and compact Dyna-Elastic Arm is designed to counteract the weigh of the combined camera and Camera Mounting Assembly (the Sled) by employing a high carbon alloy spring. The Support Arm can be boomed up and down, as well as pivoted in and out, and side to side. It is the combined booming and pivoting action of the Support Arm that isolates the motions of the operator from the camera in a way that creates ultra smooth shots. The spring force is field adjustable to allow for varying camera weights.

The Glidecam V-8 Professional Camera Stabilization System allows you to walk, run, go up and down stairs, shoot from moving vehicles and travel over uneven terrain with out and camera instability or shake. The Glidecam V-8 is designed primarily for use with lightweight video camcorders and 8mm motion picture cameras.

The Glidecam Support Vest is lightweight and comfortable and can be easily adjusted to fit a wide range of operators. High endurance closed cell, FVA foam padding and integral T6 aluminum alloy create a Vest which can hold and evenly distribute the weight of the Glidecam V-8 system across the operator's shoulders, back, and hips. For safety, quick release, high impact buckles allow the Vest to be removed quickly.

The Glidecam V-8 is perfect for shooting the type of super smooth tracking shots. The V-8 instantly adds high production value to every scene. The main virtue of a body-mounted system is that it allows you to shoot for long periods of time with very little fatigue.

The Glidecam V-8 is recommended for shooting commercials, industrials, weddings, documentaries, news, music video's or feature length motion pictures. Allow the Glidecam V-8 to finally bring the fluidity and grace of professional, body mounted, camera stabilizers to your productions.

        Glidecam Body-Pod
The Glidecam Body-pod is a lightweight rigid support system. When the Glidecam Body-pod is used with either the Glidecam 2000 Pro, or Glidecam 4000 Pro hand-held stabilizers, it allows all the weight of the system to be supported by your body, instead of just your arms. The Body-pod allows you to shoot in cushioned comfort for indefinite periods of time and it takes the stabilizer's weight out of your hands and arms and displaces the weight onto your waist and shoulders. Stress and fatigue are virtually eliminated, allowing you the freedom to shoot events that require uninterrupted shooting.

The Glidecam Body-pod is designed to allow you to quickly slide the handle of either the 2000 Pro, or 4000 Pro on and off its rigid support, so you can quickly switch back and forth between hand-held stabilization shooting and body mounted shooting.

Since the support of the Body-pod is rigid and for the most part inflexible, it will not absorb and smooth out camera movements as well as a stabilizer which is being held in just your hands. However, shooting with your stabilizer attached to the rigid support of the Body-pod still yields results that are far better than unstabilized, hand-held shooting or shoulder supported shooting.

Once you get used to using the Glidecam Body-pod, you won't want to shoot anything without it.
